Privacy & Safety

Your data stays yours.

Focus Lock doesn't want your data — it never even asks for it. No accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no ad networks. Just a timer that runs quietly on your own machine.

The actual policy

What we collect, in plain English.

No legal maze, no fine print designed to confuse you. Here's exactly what happens with your information.

No accounts, no sign-ups

Focus Lock never asks for an email, a username, or a password. There's nothing to create and nothing tied to your identity.

Everything stays on your device

Your timer settings, schedule, and session history are stored locally on your computer only — never uploaded anywhere.

No analytics or telemetry

We don't run Google Analytics, crash reporters, or any hidden pings home. The app doesn't watch how you use it.

Nothing to sell, so we don't

There's no ad network, no data broker, no third party we share information with — because we never collect any in the first place.

Clean installer · 100% virus-free

Built clean.
No malware. No shortcuts.

Focus Lock is written and shipped by one independent developer — nothing bundled, nothing hidden, nothing sold alongside it. But please don't just take our word for it.

Any doubt at all? Upload Focus_Lock_Setup_1_0_0.exe to VirusTotal and check it against 70+ antivirus engines before you run it — it only takes a minute.

⚠️ Why your browser or antivirus might flag it

Focus Lock isn't signed by a paid code-signing certificate authority, so Windows SmartScreen and some antivirus tools automatically flag any unsigned installer from a small developer — famous open-source apps get the same warning in their early days. It's a trust signal about how new and small we are, not a detection of anything malicious. If it still makes you uneasy, that's completely fair — scan it on VirusTotal first, every time.

The short version

Five things worth remembering

We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
No account, email, or sign-up is ever required to use the app.
The installer is clean and built with nothing hidden inside.
Browser or antivirus warnings happen because we're unsigned and small — not because something's wrong.
When in doubt, always scan it yourself on VirusTotal before running it.

This policy will grow as Focus Lock grows — if that ever changes (say, an optional cloud-sync feature down the line), this page will be updated first, clearly, and any new data collection will always be opt-in. Questions? Reach out any time.
